IC Markets is one of the few brokers that will actually tell you where its servers live, and it gives two answers rather than one.

MetaTrader sits in New York. Its own words: "All IC MetaTrader 5 servers are located in the Equinix NY4 data centre in New York for optimal execution speed."

cTrader sits in London: "The IC cTrader server is located in the LD5 IBX Equinix Data Centre in London."

Two platforms, two cities, two correct answers. Which makes the next finding the interesting one: not a single provider below publishes the London answer. Every one that mentions cTrader puts it in New York alongside MetaTrader.

By the Numbers: Two named facilities, Equinix NY4 and LD5. Five providers checked. Zero of them place IC's cTrader in London. One publishes a per-broker figure for New York you can actually use.

The Platform Split, and Why It Matters

Most brokers give you one city to aim at. This one gives you a decision.

On MT4 or MT5, New York is where orders are matched, and IC explains why it built it that way: "Hosting the MetaTrader 4 and 5 servers in NY4 enables cross connects between the MetaTrader server and all of IC's prices providers."

On cTrader, London is the answer, repeated on the cTrader platform page, the cTrader Raw account page and the Why Us page.

So switching from MT5 to cTrader means switching data centre. No VPS vendor appears to have noticed.

That is a contribution ceiling, not a rate card, and the cost of falling short is not published. One more thing before planning around it.

The VPS page exists on the global site, the Australian link resolves to nothing, and the European site carries no VPS page at all, so the entity you are onboarded to decides whether the offer exists for you.

cTrader appears only as a pre-install, never as a performance claim, and its cTrader page publishes no figures at all.
