Prop Firms That Allow Expert Advisors on Forex and CFD Accounts

11+ Prop Firms That Allow Expert Advisors on Forex and CFD Accounts

An Expert Advisor is a MetaTrader program, which means two things have to line up before yours can trade a funded account. The firm has to permit EAs, and the platform it puts you on has to run them.

Those are separate questions, and firms answer them separately. FundedNext permits EAs everywhere and supports them on MT4 and MT5 only.

BrightFunded welcomes them and excludes DXtrade. FXIFY lists them as allowed and offers MT5 alongside two platforms that are not MetaTrader at all.

The Bottom Line: eight of the twelve permit EAs with no ownership test. Three require you to own the code. One requires written approval. One charges an add-on fee.

Prop Firms That Allow Expert Advisors on Forex and CFD Accounts

Twelve firms below, each with its permission, its condition, and the platform your EA will actually be running on.

1. FunderPro

FunderPro Home

Expert Advisors and bots are permitted, and the platform choice is the widest here: MT5, TradeLocker or cTrader.

The condition: you must own your EA. Renting it, sharing it, or using it to exploit technical gaps, manipulate latency or gain an unfair edge is prohibited.

2. Blueberry Funded

Blueberry Funded Home 0326

Authorship of the decision is what separates permitted from prohibited. Calculators for risk, sizing helpers and partial-close managers all pass, and so does an EA you built.

What fails is any program producing its own entries off its own logic, which sweeps in the entire commercial market no matter how you tune the settings.

The condition: be ready to show the code belongs to you, with a purchase receipt sufficient for the simpler utility tools.

3. DNA Funded

DNA Funded Home

The answer changes with the product. Buy Instant Funding and algorithmic trading plus EAs are barred completely.

Buy Rapid, or either of the phased accounts, and both are permitted, less a published exclusion list covering hedging, reverse arbitrage, high-frequency trading and copying from outside accounts, to which Martingale, grid trading and tick scalping are added at the funded stage.

The condition: buy the right account type, since the answer flips entirely between products.

4. FundedNext

FundedNext Home

Every model and every account type accepts an EA, and the same goes for a VPS connection.

Each of the two carries its own separate charge before it will switch on, and skipping that official route puts you on the forbidden-practices list.

The condition: only the two MetaTrader builds handle automation here. The firm states outright that neither cTrader nor Match-Trader supports it.

5. BrightFunded

BrightFunded Home

The plainest yes on the page. Expert Advisors are permitted, purchased ones included, with a single observation attached: a commercial robot you bought is probably being run by other traders too, so identical positions can show up across accounts.

The condition: DXtrade sits outside the automation offer, and no promise is made about whether an outside EA will work or perform once installed.

6. SabioTrade

SabioTrade Home 1

Automation starts switched off. No semi-automated or fully automated system may run until written approval has been granted, and the wording reaches every category: copiers, Expert Advisors, scripts, APIs, algorithms and bots.

The condition: approval in writing before anything runs, with account restrictions available where it has not been obtained.

7. Blue Guardian

Blue Guardian Home

The 2 Step Standard rule card answers this in two words: Expert Advisors, allowed.

Copy trading is permitted between accounts you legally own, and a two-minute minimum holding time applies under the tick scalping rule.

The condition: news trading is open during challenge phases but restricted five minutes either side of high-impact releases once funded, which matters if your EA trades events.

8. The5ers

The5ers Home

Permission is granted, and authorship is the test. Where a bought robot has other traders sitting in the same positions, the firm reads that as copy trading and blocks it.

Buying from a vendor who keeps the code is blocked as well. A robot designed to scalp the rollover window is blocked too.

The condition: own the source code, and run it on MT5 Hedge, which is the platform across desktop, web and mobile.

9. FXIFY

FXIFY Home

The plan card answers it for you. Look at the $5k Two Phase Classic panel and EAs Allowed says Yes, with Trade Through News and Hold Over Weekend saying the same.

Grid and Martingale approaches are both fine, and nothing obliges you to attach a stop loss.

The condition: none stated on ownership, though only MT5 among the three platforms offered is a MetaTrader product, with DXTrade and TradingView the alternatives.

10. FTUK

FTUK

Risk management EAs and trading bots are allowed, with a named list of exclusions: Martingale, tick scalping, reverse arbitrage, latency arbitrage, hedge arbitrage, grid trading and high-frequency trading.

The condition: HFT is defined as opening and closing trades within 30 seconds, so that figure is the floor your EA has to clear. Breaching any listed strategy closes the account.

11. Funded Trading Plus

Funded Trading Plus Home

Outside software is permitted by name in the terms, which list API integrations, Expert Advisors and automated trading programmes together. Nobody asks who wrote it and nothing has to be approved first.

The condition: the risk is yours alone. Should the software freeze, misfire an order, fail outright or simply not get along with the platform, the firm disclaims any responsibility for the outcome.

12. FTMO

FTMO Home

Permission comes with an actual figure rather than a description, which is rare.

The violation is hyperactivity, and hyperactivity has a threshold: a robot that pushes past 2,000 requests at the server in one day, counting every open, modification and close on live trades and resting orders alike.

The condition: keep the daily request count beneath that ceiling, and leave ultra-high-speed tooling alone, since it is barred under a separate unfair-advantage clause.

Key Features Compared

The features worth checking before you commit an EA to any of these firms fall into four groups.

Three firms test authorship, and each frames it differently. Blueberry Funded asks for the source code. So does The5ers. FunderPro asks that the robot belong to you rather than be rented in.

Platform support decides more than most traders expect. If your EA is MQL4, FundedNext‘s MT4 support matters and FXIFY‘s MT5, DXTrade and TradingView line-up does not help you.

The5ers runs MT5 Hedge, FunderPro adds TradeLocker and cTrader, and Funded Trading Plus offers MT5 and Match-Trader.

Three firms impose a speed floor, each measured differently. Half a minute per round trip at FTUK. A two-minute hold at Blue Guardian, under its tick scalping clause. A daily request budget of 2,000 at FTMO.

Extra steps apply at two. FundedNext charges an add-on for both EA and VPS use, and SabioTrade requires written authorisation first.

Pros and Cons of Running an EA on a Funded Account

✅ Pros:

The permission is genuinely common, with ten of these twelve firms allowing EAs without an approval process.

Several go further and remove the rules that most often break automated systems, with FXIFY permitting Martingale and grid strategies and requiring no stop loss, and FTUK removing news restrictions, stop loss requirements and maximum lot sizes.

❌ Cons:

The conditions are unevenly distributed and easy to miss. An EA bought from a marketplace is fine at BrightFunded and prohibited at Blueberry Funded.

A strategy running on cTrader can be automated at FunderPro and cannot at FundedNext.

And responsibility for a malfunction sits with you at Funded Trading Plus, BrightFunded and FunderPro alike, so a bad fill caused by your own software is your loss.

Choosing Where to Run Your EA

Answer three questions in order.

Did You Write It?

If yes, every firm here is open to you. Bought software narrows the field to eight names: FundedNext, DNA Funded, Blue Guardian, FTMO, Funded Trading Plus, FTUK, FXIFY and BrightFunded. The5ers and Blueberry Funded both fall away, since each insists on the code.

What Is It Written In?

MQL4 needs MT4, which points at FundedNext. MQL5 opens up FunderPro, The5ers, FXIFY, Funded Trading Plus and DNA Funded. Anything built for cTrader points at FunderPro specifically.

How Fast Does It Trade?

Under 30 seconds per round trip rules out FTUK. Under two minutes conflicts with Blue Guardian‘s holding rule. Very high order rates run into FTMO‘s 2,000 request ceiling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Forex Prop Firm Is Best for Expert Advisors?

BrightFunded and FXIFY ask the least of you.

The first takes purchased robots without querying authorship at all; the second marks EAs as permitted on the plan panel, alongside grid and Martingale approaches, and never insists on a stop loss.

Can I Use a Purchased EA on A Funded Account?

At most of these firms, yes.

The exceptions are The5ers and Blueberry Funded, each of which wants the underlying code in your hands, plus FunderPro, which rules out rented software.

Do Any Prop Firms Charge Extra to Run an EA?

FundedNext does. Expert Advisors and VPS each require a separate paid add-on on every model, and using either without one is listed as a prohibited practice.

Which Platforms Support Expert Advisors at These Firms?

MT4 and MT5 are the reliable answers.

FundedNext supports automation on those two alone, FunderPro adds TradeLocker and cTrader, The5ers runs MT5 Hedge, Funded Trading Plus offers MT5 and Match-Trader, and BrightFunded excludes DXtrade from automated trading.

Will an EA Breach the Rules by Trading Too Often?

It can. Cross 2,000 requests at the server inside one day and FTMO calls that hyperactivity.

Close a trade inside half a minute of opening it and FTUK calls that HFT. Hold for under two minutes and Blue Guardian‘s tick scalping clause applies.

Do I Need Permission Before Switching My EA On?

At SabioTrade, yes, in writing. Everywhere else on this page you can start immediately, though FundedNext requires you to purchase the EA add-on first.
